Jakarta Kominfo-Newsroom - More US visitors are expected to come to Indonesia following the lifting of its travel warning.
? A total of 45,701 Americans came to Indonesia at the end of the first quarter of 2008, an increased compared with 36,572 people in the first quarter of 2007,? said the director general for tourism marketing Sapta Nirwandar here Friday (4/7).
The number of US tourists to Indonesia is expected to increase in the months of the second quarter, notably because Americans are the king of luxury liners of various sizes with a capacity of between 2,000 and 3,000 passengers.
Visitors from the US will be joined by those from Australia, Canada, the UK and other European countries.
Also, there is added attraction. Angkasa Pura I and II will arrange special art and cultural performances for a stretch of one year for tourists entering Indonesia?s main gateways.
This is in line with the Visit Indonesia Year 2008. (T.mf/toeb/ton)
